“Terra Verde- Tribute to our beautiful Forests” is a gem sculpture, with a removable slide pendant & necklace. “Terra Verde”, or “Green Earth”, represents our Earth and its fauna. It was inspired by the devastating fires in Greece in 2007 and the many forest fires here in America.
The Silver Faces, appearing both on the pendant and the base, personify the “Dryades and Oreiades”, nymphs of the trees and the forests from the ancient Greek mythology.
- Slide pendant & pin with carved Australian Koroit matrix opal 152.0 carats, and four Colombian emeralds 3.40 carats total weight, set in 18K yellow gold & sterling silver custom setting
- Sculptured base: A natural emerald crystals specimen, 699.0 grams from Campo Formoso, in Northern Bahia, Brazil, set in sterling silver with three carved Australian black opals (Lightning Ridge) 8.97 carats total weight. The drape-like tentacles with the “Silver Faces” were carved and modeled in wax over the emerald crystals for an exact fit and then cast in sterling silver.
