Item No. H-043
Ancient Greek Mythology
From the Satyrs & Gargoyles Series
This pendant represents a Satyr from the ancient Greek mythology, carved chrysoprase (gem material from Australia) in high cameo relief-style of carving, 165.5 carats, set in a hand-fabricated custom 14K yellow gold setting, with a solid closed back.
The vibrant color of the chrysoprase and the earthy matrix reflect the lust for life and the woodland origin of the Satyrs. In classic Greek mythology Satyrs were sylvan gods, the male followers of Dionysos, the god of wine, represented as part man and part goat, usually having short, sprouting horns on their heads.
Helen often exhibits her gem artwork together with the natural gem materials.
