Carved Gems

Carving the gemstones is often the first step in Helen’s creative process of designing jewelry and gem sculptures. Some are figurative, taking the shape of gods, nymphs or fantastical creatures, while others are organic freeform carvings, following and showcasing the colors, patterns and special features in the stones, which Helen calls "nature's hallmarks". Some of these carved gems are bespoken pieces, created as custom orders for clients.
